Part I - Architecture Series - Flags • mp3

Tuesday: a short film in three parts

Produced with Michael Dennis.

Tuesday explores the idea of a "Non-Day."

Non-days are when the world revolves as usual, but for an individual there is a certain veil over their particular part of the world. The usual becomes distant as the individual perceives themselves as removed. Little details, normally missed in the course of life, are now magnified. Brief moments of time linger in one's vision and become meditations.

In producing the film, the music was composed for some of the images, while others edited to the music.
Working on the compositions for the film formed a new challenge; replacing the environmental sounds
of a given piece of footage with ones fabricated in the studio. Ex. Flags at right.

Other times melody seemed to convey the whimsy or meloncholy of the shot, as in Warehouse in a Puddle
• mp3 and Contemplation • mp3.

Approximating Significance

Produced with Michael Dennis.

Michael and I produced this film for The Beast Pageant DVD, published by Folio magazine.
The theme chosen by Folio was "Musical Bodies."

We decided to produce this piece concerning the sounds of these two individual figures and the sound created when they came into close proximity if each other.

All Consumed

A feature film by Monteith McCollum and Ariana Gerstein

Monte and I co-composed many of the songs for the documantary. We would mostly start with one of us laying down a track and then taking turns in response to what had been recorded.

The film is an artful documentary investigating the nature of people to consume and be consumed.
Originating with milk and the milk industry as its subject, All Consumed is a testament to the time
and energy consumed in the production of the project by those involved.
